         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Title 2-" We know with confidence only when we know little; with knowledge doubt increases" )adapted from JW von Goethe) Discuss the statement with reference to two areas of knowledge</em></strong><br><br>Physics Atomic structure gives a good insight- develoments of atomic models from JJ Thompson's plum pudding model to the modern day Schrodinger's model- all paradfigm shifts connect to. <br><br>Biology - (1)Paradigm shift in evolution from Lamarckism to darwinism.<br>(2) In genetics it was believed that only genes are responsible for inheriting the character and there is no role of environment in inheritance. Later scientists discovered the role of environmental conditions affecting the gene loci and the character associated which is heritable too.<br><br><strong><em>Title 5 " The quality of knowledge produced by an academic discipline is directly proportional to the duration of historical development of that discipline<br><br></em></strong>Physics- Conceptual shift from Classical Physics to Quantum Physics. To what extent are natural sciences influenced by the society and culture in which they are pursued? How important are the natural sciences?<br><br></div><div><strong>2. Concepts and language<br></strong><br></div><div>How do we use language to express the knowledge found within natural sciences? To what extent does this differ according to different forms of natural sciences? Are there any central concepts for which we need specific language before approaching natural sciences?<br><br></div><div><strong>3. Methodology<br></strong><br></div><div>Which ways of knowing do we use in order to connect with, and understand, natural sciences?
