Social media have a big roll -that is my oppinion. They have to provide more info about the Swedish Culture, to give more help with the important informations to the refugies and imigrants. One of the way is to have program on some foreign languages - speaks by the most of the imigrants. One of the most importan support is to annocne that all of them can get free of charge psihological support or support if they been tortured in they own country.

It is not necessary to be on a socila network...I am not on any of them and I can live without them. The main problem is that our students use internet or the social networks as they are the sourse of truth but teachers and families should collaborate and explain kids they are wrong most of the times. Fewer and fewer young people try to read a book, a magazine or a newspaper to get out his/her own ideas and opinions about a fact. Well, I have never done such thing, but what Alicia shares resonates with my principles and with what I’ve been trying to set as examples for my students. Using what social media keep bringing up, take a picture and/or a text and, with sts, decompose it, I mean analyse it bit by bit, backtrack it and show the original idea / picture / news report and how it was changed, misinterpreted, misrepresented and perverted. We know that medias have got a huge appeal on people that, sometimes, believe unconditionally to what journalists report. But, often they fail to tell the full story and fall into propaganda traps. To a certain extent, in my point of view, we have to thank the media for having warned the world about the situation of newly arrived migrants, because due to the many images and footage that were broadcast on TV, Facebook, Twitter, ... many people have awakened to the chaos we are going through and took action.

As a teacher, I believe that we should discuss with our students everything that is happening in the media, including talk about the hate speech, but at the same time we should discuss with them the news that are released in national or international channels of trust, such as for example UNHCR, UNICEF, the Human Rights Foundation, and many others. I think it is the most effective and positive way to help shape our students way of thinking and to spread the word.

Not always we are prepared to differentiate the reality from fakeness of what is being broadcast to us. A lot of it is professionally manipulated and it can easily be misleading. Media are not neutral. They're are driven by the same economic system which produces war, famine, persecution, social divide. They are the system. I agree with Alicia to lead by example and make positive use of social media. I found very interesting the idea of introducing an icon similar to traffic signs to say "stop." We must also learn to say "no" to bad information. It is not easy for both boys and for adults to find a way to do it. I think the silence and indifference encourage the circulation of false and tendentious news.

Well, this is a really big issues, and not only related to the topic of newly arrived immigrants. There's no real "web2.0" education strategy in our schools, teachers seem to ignore the 'virtual' has become a part of the 'real' for our kids ( as well as for some of us ). I think that professional educators must devoto some time to this 'new branch' of education - I'm trying, but have very little support from my colleagues who have such a larger amount of time ( hours, lessons) in the classes.
I know that Manzoni and Dante and whatever is important...but what about the world the kids are living in NOW?

The football team Pas Giannina and a selection of players from Barcelona, in collaboration with the United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees, held a solidarity day on November 18th on Ioannina in order to collect funds and recognize all the hosting efforts that the greek population is doing. I think that the social media have a great influence on our beliefs and attitudes towards refugees. A great number of refugees attended the football match and they really enjoyed it. The social media covered the event, which contibuted to the rise of awareness for refugees.In addition, the football team Pas Giannina, offers free tickets for the refugees for all the games.
