This well-written, engaging novel has little difference to any other young adult fantasy, and has been a favorite of I and countless others' for over a decade. I understand that the story's representation of young teenagers drinking wine is not an image every parent wants their child to see, but it is no different to many European practices, and we hardly condemn all Italians as blasphemous. In addition, if we were to demand every fantasy novel which does not center around Christian/Catholic religion be taken off the shelves, our children would be left with nothing to read that might fuel their beautiful imaginations, and help build the creativity that will make them viable citizens of our country. I would ask that you exercise an open mind, with both your child and the rest of ours.

Rather than spout nonsense about a book I barely know, I'd like to tell you about my own experience reading this irreverent story as a child. It was recommended to me as a "quick read" and although it was not lengthy, the contents between these covers were more than graphic enough to make up for that. The last thing I would desire is for my kids or anyone they know, to be as shaken by this impious spiel as I was at their age. I would strongly recommend you reconsider your decision to impact these bright young minds in such a damaging, negative way.

If those characters were studying all day in school like they are supposed to be, then this "Gossip Girl" wouldn't have anything to gossip about!
