So the Persians that were brought in to China, were they those valuable people the Mongols often moved around?

It wasn't just Persians. Anyone who had a certain talent or useful skill that was lacking somewhere else in the empire, they would relocate them. Persians just happened to be a prominent group that was shipped to China.

What factor influenced the mongol's decision to finally simmer down and integrate themselves into the cultural life around them? Why didn't they continue to conquer like they had been?

Good question; complex question. A couple thing can be said about this: 1) They more or less conquered all they could. After a while, it's kind of like, how much more do we need? They had so much that there was little need for more conquest; 2) After a while, you also have perhaps too much to handle as it is; 3) Some Mongol groups, especially those in Persia, eventually assimilated with the native groups they conquered. The appeal of not living a nomadic lifestyle, enjoying the spoils of conquest, was appealing to many mongols. Indeed, Kublai Khan, who ruled the Chinese part of the empire, was criticized by the "hard-core" Mongols for becoming soft and sedentary.

What caused the Mongols do be so brutal in their slaughtering of entire cities, and did this contribute to their effective and rapid empire expansion?

It was part of their M.O. Indeed, part of being able to conquer so many and so much was due to their reputation, which they quickly built. As mentioned in some of the videos, many cities surrendered upon their arrival to avoid slaughter because they people knew of the Mongol reputation. Had they Mongols been charitable to the early people they vanquished, perhaps later people aren't so quick to surrender and the Mongols have to work harder to conquer.

Did the women their view themselves as equal? And was there any way for individuals to convert and not be slaughtered

I don't think equal is the proper way, but it's the way of life they knew, so it didn't seem special to Mongol women that they were treated in such a way, which happened to be better than women of places like China, Persia, Europe, etc. Convert to what? You mean surrender to the Mongols? Yes, the Mongols spared many of the places they conquered, but if your city had somehow offended the Mongols, there was no mercy.
