A young women named Ann was there when they were posted, when asked how she felt about the matter, she replied, "I never knew how much of a problem some of the rules of the Church were. I think the Pope is at wrong and should start teaching the faith how it should be." 
It is also said that the Pope asked Luther to take down his 95 Tenets, to which he refused and was thrown in jail.
When Ann was asked how she felt on Luther's current situation, she responded with the following, "I don't think the Pope needed to react so strongly. After Luther posted the Theses people are already beginning to believe that maybe there is something wrong with the church. By reacting the way he did, the Pope certainly isn't helping his image or the church. I think he should have dealt with it differently and listened to what Luther had to say."
While Martin Luther's future with the church is uncertain, it seems there are certainly people out there who support him. They are catching peoples eyes because he states the hard truth of his opinion and doesn't just ease into disagreement. some of them say things like the Pope shouldn't have power over Purgatory. The pope can only announce God's forgiveness of the guilt of sin in his name. In theses 14–29, Luther challenged common beliefs about purgatory.
