Is the patroness of musicians. The musicians played at her wedding she "sang in her heart to the Lord". Her day is celebrated in the Latin Catholic, Eastern Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches on November 22.

The first festival in her honor was at Evreux in Normandy in 1570.

That girl was converted to Christianity and her parents married her with a pagan nobleman who, on the same wedding night, the bride lets them know that she has given her self to God.

She sang to God in her heart, since she had decided to give him her life and had to marry at the wish of her father. Later, she was tortured for converting to Christianity and died on November 22 of an indefinite year, between 180 and 230.

In 1594, Pope Gregory XIII named her the patron of musicians. '' She has shown an irresistible attraction to the melodious chords of the instruments. Her sensitive and passionate spirit for this art thus turned her name into a symbol of music.'' the pope said at the time.

According to the thesis of Venezuelan history professor Jesus Ignacio Perez-Perazzo. '' The most likely fact to be related to music is because, from a very young age and in accordance with the customs and traditions of Roman patricians, Cecilia owed start and play a musical instrument, probably the lyre, the zither or some type of harp used by the ladies of Roman society.''
