In Phase 2, the group explored key concepts in English language didactics, focusing on lesson planning and communicative teaching methods. The expert presentations addressed:

• What is a learning objective and why it matters: A clear statement of what learners will achieve.

• Difference between learning objectives and outcomes: Objectives guide instruction; outcomes reflect what learners actually achieve.

• SMART criteria: Objectives should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

The communicative approach was emphasized as essential in modern ELT, focusing on:

• Real-life communication over memorization.

• Authentic materials, role-plays, and task-based learning.

• Promoting fluency and interaction in meaningful contexts.

In Phase 3, we created a didactic unit titled “My Learning Room,” aimed at students aged 11 to 15 with an A1–A2 English level. The unit focused on personal presentation and daily routines and was structured into four 60-minute sessions. Each session developed different language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

To begin with, we introduced vocabulary and grammar related to daily routines using visuals, interactive games, and real-life tasks. Then, we moved on to reading comprehension and speaking activities, where students created and presented personal posters or stories. In the following sessions, listening skills were reinforced through podcasts, and students practiced pronunciation and sentence structure.

Moreover, we used teaching methods such as experiential learning, role-playing, and direct instruction to keep students actively engaged. We also included formative assessments,like exit tickets, peer feedback, and quick writing tasks,to track progress and promote reflection.

Overall, this unit helped us connect theory with practice by designing engaging, inclusive lessons that respond to the real needs of beginner English learners.
