This helps me feel that it is focused more on the process. I also have been spending time looking for ways to bring in other resources that tie in with our required curriculum to help make learning more personal and engaging for students.

My values have to do with doing what's best for students and having authentic opportunities for learning. The things I didn't value were top down decisions, political agendas, standardized tests.

1. What surprised me was that what I want for students I don't do enough of because it is outside of the status quo.

2. Of the 6 items I listed I am only able to implement 2 of them on a regular basis. Honesty and student voice.

3. Of the things I do not value I do all of them on a regular basis.

4. Connection between all is wanting what is best for students and allowing students to have a love for learning.

5. I need to implement more inquiry based learning and step away from the standard delivery method to allow students a more authentic learning experience.

1. There was really no surprises about my values. My values are centered around doing what is best for the student. They emphasize the development of the whole child.
2. I try and think that I am able to act on my values regularly. There are constraints that I have to work within, but I strive to follow my values.
3. The one thing that I do not value and I am asked to do regularly is standardized testing. For students who are visually impaired, standardized testing does not provide any real information or data on the VI student's abilities. They are not normed for VI students let alone accessible.
4. I think that there is a strong correlation between by aptitudes/interests and my values.
5. I will continue to follow my values and include the knowledge that I am learning about growth mindset.

1. No, there were not any surprises. Ever since I began studying to be a teacher, I have had values focused on doing what is best for the students.

2. I struggle with making content relevant because some things in history are not always seen as relevant to students.

3. Two things that I do not value are: viewing students as a number and nothing more and a one-size fits all approach. These values are prevalent in our schools today and these viewpoints need to change.

4. I believe that my values, interests and aptitudes align very well. I want to have a student-centered approach to education and my values align with that.

5. I will continue to follow my values and work to change the things that I do not value.
