So George and his friend James got scammed. They listened to this strange man who told them that the trail they were going to, is a shorter route which were to saved them 350-400 miles. And there are lots of animals there and it's in the plains so the animals can eat grass and also there is a lot of firewood. So they took the opportunity to listen the man and turned out that they had to deal with tough weathers and lots of people died and they had to eat there animals so that way they can survive. So instead of listening to they man, they should have token the opportunity to not listen to the man and continue on there own trail.

Wagons can be built by using maple, hickory, and oak. Also did you know that wagons can lift up 2,500 pounds, also it could be light enough for a ox or a mule to pull it. You know how for Oxen's and Mules, they pull the wagon either 1 or 2 of them, but did you know that it takes 4-6 horses to pull a wagon. One of the problems were that wagons didn't have any brakes so that might be a problem if they are stopping by downhill or on a mountain/hill. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1GXDpf6JVB0Gy3gdFbcDFhfBi39XhtWl-fu9bdConays/edit#slide=id.p

Texas lost and some of them died but the those who lived, had to get exucated by the troops of Santa Anna. Santa Anna is a Mexican general who he was known for as the Hero of Tampico, he fought against Spain to get Mexico back. He was also born in February 21. 1794 and died in June, 21 1876, you know whats funny, he died at the same day he was born, but in different months and year. Santa Anna has a full name like everyone else which is (Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón) I don't understand that full name and also it's pretty long. Also did you know that Santa Anna was president for 7 years.

Abolition caused violence where people could agree or disagree. If I was alive at that time then I would not be involved in the reform movement because there are going to be so many arguments and I can't be on the middle side which is bad. Also, this might cause a war, which isn't a good thing and people could die because of it and I don't want to be one of those people. So like I said before, there is no middle ground, where you can't be on both sides, you have to be in one side if you join the argument. Also there was a thing were slavery was made, weather you keep the slaves or free them. Also there was a guy named John Brown and he was against slavery and so him and his 5 sons, went into war to free the slaves, but since there were 6 of them, it was a small army and they lost the battle. John's 5 sons died and he had to be put in jail and after that, they executed him. John was a brave man at that time and is willing to do anything to free his fellow slaves. There were other people who tried to end slavery, which were Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln, okay I know that those are like the top people that I know that ended slavery, but they were good leaders. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1D7nOoe_HdknpJ1eDPIkWJUlkteUXrBz5QxIx0x8p--4/edit#slide=id.g357e65f16d_0_0 (This is the specific part of the slide, where Mrs.Burns made her video on John Brown.)

Only the wealthy/rich people went to school, while the poor couldn't attend school. So they had collages to train teachers how to teach and soon other states did what Massachusetts did.

There were a lot of rules to be a soldier, and kids lied about there age. Soldiers died while being in the war. Fighting 2 different wars. Both sides of the war, struggled getting there soldiers supplies, trading with enemies. Getting shot was bad, by a musket. Sicknesses were happening and infections. 1 and 4 dying to an infection. When capturing a black soldier, they either execute them, or enslave them. Black soldiers were paid less, no matter how good they do it. Muskets left soldiers bruised and blathered. Soldiers read anything they could get there hands on, and wright letters to there families to tell them what happened.

And the first ever musket was made in 1465. Also just one shot can kill, although it does takes 20 seconds to reload 1 shot. But the 1 thing that could stop a musket shot is iron because of the strength it has in it, to stop a powerful weapon, but for some reason, a bullet proof vest could stop a musket shot.

In the story "Barefoot" it showed us on what it looked like when the slaves were running away from the slave owners. The slave that we see in the story is at a swamp which isn't the most habitable place, which is smart because no slave owners would think that the slaves are at an inhabitable place. Also, Mrs.Burns asked if the animals in the story helped the slaves, and I think so. The reason why I say that is because when he was looking for water, the frog crocked and he found some water, than there were the slave owners looking for him, and once they were like a foot away from him, Miskito's came out of no where and started biting and sucking on there blood. Then after that, the deer started running away, so that way the slave owners would think that it's him and started chasing him which they are stupid because deer's are way faster, but they didn't know and chased it anyway, but now they were far away and saved the little boy.

During his childhood, Abe Lincoln was born in Illinois, which is where I live, how crazy is that! When the war happened, Lincoln ordered a fleet of Union ships to supply the federal Fort Sumter in South Carolina for the civil war. During the war, Abraham Lincoln drew criticism for suspending some civil liberties. When Abe Lincoln was running for president, there were 3 more candidates who were running for president too, which is Douglas, Breckinridge, and Bell. Hannibal Hamlin was Lincoln's vice president. Abe Lincoln is also on the penny and the $5 bill.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkuskEPB6e0
