Troy doesn't think that it's fair that the white get to drive the truck and the colored have to haul the stuff. Bono question Troy about his relationship with a woman named Alberta. Troy denies it everytime it gets asked. Throughout act 1 Troy disapproves about Corey and his football career and he kind of ruins it for him. Troy fesses up to his relationship with Alberta and how he got her pregnant and rose is upset and tells him that he doesn't do nothing for her so Troy gets mad and grabs her leading to a small fight between Troy and Corey. Alberta has the baby and its a girl but Alberta dies do to complications with child labor. Troy gets mad and tells the 🤬 to take him. Rose agrees to take care of the girl that they call Raynell but tells troy that he is without a wife. Troy gets drunk and has a fight with Corey only to kick him out. Now it is 1963 and Troy has passed away Corey comes back from being in the Marines and refuses to go to his father's funeral but his mother convinces him to. I did everything for you and how do you treat me by going and getting another woman pregnant. Yes I have agreed to raise that child like she is my own. I know that none of this is her fault but you need to know that I will no longer be your wife. I love you and I will never stop loving you but I can't deal with this abdultery. You can still stay with me and help me take care of the girl but we will never be together again.
