The virus, transmitted via unprotected sex or contaminated needles, transcribes its genes in the nucleus of CD4+ cells and multiplies in order to kill the cells off quickly. HIV infection has three main stages (from least to most severe): acute HIV infection, to chronic infection, to AIDS, if left untreated.</div>]]></description>

         <title>How the immune system works? (immune response)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>White blood cells scan for disease-causing organisms called pathogens by travelling across the bood vessels and the lymphatic system using antigens for cues. Once the pathogens are found, certain WBCs called phagocytes trigger the immune response by sending macrophages to the bloodstream, destroying the pathogens, and sending signals to other WBCs called lymphocytes to clean up any remaining pathogens. Certain lymphocytes like T-cells kill off the remaining pathogens, while B-cells and helper T-cells produce antigens produce antibodies to fight foreign cells.</div>]]></description>
