Which leads her to an eccentric witch. Merida takes the opportunity to find a way to change her mother. Finally the witch gives her a spell that will supposedly change her mother but she does not realize that this will become a problem.

This created chaos in town because the people saw that bear and panicked trying to attack the bear and hunt it down not knowing that it was the queen. Merida goes back to the witch trying to look for her when she can't find her she gets told that by the sunrise the spell would stay forever and the queen would stay as a bear. Without Meridad realizing her mother and her start growing closer which was unexpected for both of them.

When they don't find a way to help her mom they decide that she will just have to stay as a bear. As the sunrise gets closer Merida is not  ready to let her mother go and apologizes to her.
