In July 1947 the British came up with the idea to separate the Indian sub continent into two parts. The Muslims in Pakistan and Hindus in the rest of India. The partition of India cause millions of people to leave their homes to move o the state where their religion was the majority. This was considered the largest forced migration of people ever. Even today there is still divisions and tensions between the people of Pakistan and India, these tensions have even caused the two countries to go to war with each other a number of times.
-Jayden M
