The Muslims in Pakistan and Hindus in the rest of India. The partition of India cause millions of people to leave their homes to move o the state where their religion was the majority. This was  considered the largest forced migration of people ever. Even today there is still divisions and tensions between the people of Pakistan and India, these tensions have even caused the two countries to go to war with each other a number of times.

*Gandhi advocated for Indians to boycott everything British in a non-violent way, this method was labeled as “Swadeshi” and was highly effective
*Gandhi forced Britain to recognize the significance of the Swadeshi movement. That along with their resources being depleted from WWII, and Japan expanding into Southeast Asia, caused Britain to realize that it wasn’t realistic for them to prolong their control of India.
