Stared in 1189 and ended in 1192.Saladin led the 3rd Crusade in taking Jerusalem.Saladin had gained the trust of syria and headed to the Latin kingdom of Jerusalem.The Christians came to "meet" him in the midst of battle and were the pride of the 3rd Crusades attack.Afterwords, All the great rulers came together to take back the Holy city of Jerusalem. >^_^<

The capture of Jerusalem was caused by Saladin. Saladin was a Muslim man committed to his religion and is fierce to all hostile acts. This sparked the 3rd crusade for Christians. Christian leaders King Philip of France, King Richard I of England, and German Emperor Fredrick Barbarossa led the crusade to attack for Jerusalem. Eventually a truce was called between King Richard and Saladin to allow Christians to visit the Holy land for a free price.

After Saladin took Jerusalem the third crusade was launched to take it back. The king of France and England combined forces but because of their differences could only take Acre. After that King Richard set out to take Jerusalem but ended in a truce between him and Saladin. Christians were allowed into the Holy Land for worship and would be left alone.

The third Crusade started when Saladin, a famous leader against Christians, captured Jerusalem. He was conquering all of the Christians land and possessions, causing King Philip Augustus of France, King Richard I of England, and Emperor Frederick Barbossa of Germany to set out and fight. Soon, Barbossa died and King Philip went home after the seige, leaving Richard to continue fighting. King Richard and Saladin fought for Christ's tomb, leading to the truce that Christians had free access to the land and all of its holy places. After the success of the third crusade, King Richard was killed on his way home.

The third crusade was one of the more sucsefull crusades. after the word got out that jerusalem had been taken king richard rasied money to fund the third crusade. so all the armys got together and went to jerusalem and fought. barbossa was killed and ing phillip left. but king richard stayed and fought and eventuly made a truce witch allowed them in to the land.

The 3rd Crusade was mostly successful. The Germans were easily taken out b/c they traveled on land, but the French and English traveled by sea. They took Acre, and then Richard took full control of the army. He started a siege on Jerusalem. This ended in a truce where the Christians could come and visit the holy lands.

Saladin, Sultan of Egypt rallied Muslim Forces to fight the Christians together and even Convinced Syria, who at the time was a Christian Country. The Crusaders got organized themselves and set off to Jerusalem. King Richard 1 of England (Lion Hearted) was the head of this crusade. Finally Saladin gave called a truce and let Christians have equal access to the Holy City whenever they wanted.
