Jackie was drafted into the army and that's when he started to get a feel for racism. He is also great for this job because he has amazing quality in anything athletic. He was fighting not verbally or physically, but for all people who may look different. Jackie was selfless, taking every insult, every disadvantage just for everything to be equal. Everyone who cheered really showed how much they support Jackie and his cause to stop all the racism before more people get hurt.

I am incredibly happy for Jackie, he really showed those Dodgers who he was and what he stands for. It upsets me how Jackie can´t fight back in words because he can't risk losing his career, for a single foul word. Which is really stress nobody should be under. Rickey is definitely right. Jack is the right man for this job, he is a perseverer, and doesn't let things get to him, which is important especially in his position. He knew how crucial it was to get up, and be the leader for all of his peers and past teammates from The Negro Leagues to be able to play in the Major Leagues and   for many more black athletes to make way in the future. A perfect example of this is even though he gets called many racial slurs, and gets criticized very often, he really knows how substantial it is that he keeps on going. Jackie was also fearless because he didnt fight back when people said terrible things to him because he knew it would cause problems for him and his family. Jackie was an amazing baseball player and was playing with the Montreals at the perfect time.Branch Rickey did a good job on picking the right man. Jackie had a huge self-esteem and was the perfect person that would not have his eggo abused. He was also extremely courageous and was knowing that he would be mentally attacked in unbelievable ways. Another thing that showed Jackie was the perfect man, was that he never fought back. He always kept his anger in side and probably let it out after. He was also courageous to do something he never did in his life, to control his temper.
