European missions had an incredibly big influence on Native Americans because their way of life was discriminated against. "Undoubtedly, they believed their efforts represented a noble cause that would improve the lives of the people they reached. In reality, though, the work of the missionaries often undermined Native American culture." this represents the fact that they were discriminated against because they were expected to change in order to fit the westerners, intentionally suppressing their culture.

Whites during this time period were separating themselves from Native Americans, because they thought that they were not prepared for "more sophisticated life." an example of this is, "Like the British, Americans judged that proper and strict borders maintained the peace. But they had another reason as well. In their opinion, Native Americans were not capable of coping with "civilization." this is an example of discrimination against Native Americans because it is basically saying that Native Americans are too primitive and not fit for high civilization.

the Native Americans were discriminated by having some basic rights taken away. "This dependency meant that Indian nations were not true foreign nations capable of being plaintiffs in the U.S. Supreme Court while suing a state. In 1832, Worcester v. Georgia again raised the issue of state and federal authority regarding Indians." this evidence shows that Native Americans where discriminated because they weren't allowed to be plaintiffs to the supreme court. they weren't allowed rights, making them discriminated.

as america became more developed the native american territory became smaller. an example of this is "Although this principle of separation remained constant throughout the 19th century, the definition and location of "Indian country" or "Indian territory" changed over the years as the expansion of the United States consumed more and more Native American lands. These various manifestations and definitions of "Indian territory" arose from changing federal policy that began with removal and evolved into containment. To create the requisite separation while appeasing white expansionist tendencies in the early 19th century, the U.S. government decided to relocate countless Native Americans." this shows that Native Americans were discriminated against because they were pushed out of their land.

The Spanish tried to force Native people to farm their crops. Most Spanish and Portuguese settlers coming to the New World were gentlemen and did not want to work. They came to “serve God, but also to get rich,” as said by Bernal Díaz del Castillo. However, enslaved natives tended to get sick or get killed from the over labor and bad care they were given, and so the "indigenous peoples proved not to be a dependable source of labor."
