- In malignant lesions, the pathologist will provide the grade and if the mass was completely removed or if malignant cells might still be present. This is done by analyzing the margin of the lesion.
- In benign lesions and nodules, infectious lesions and cell type will provide further information to the final diagnosis or to narrow the differential.
