After finishing seminar I certainly felt a difference from the beginning. Initially, I was very worried for my mock presentation and team essay. I honestly had no clue how to craft a presentation nor an essay. In all honesty I did not contribute much to this task, as i would've wanted to. Then, for the real presentation I wanted to do a topic of an area of expertise or any topic that I could master a full conversation. However, my teammates voted to do 'Syrian Refugee Crisis.' I had no clue what this meant but by givinging it a chance I realized that there is much more out there in the world to see. I really enjoyed taking the social lens because I got to see it from multiple perspectives within this lens. For the team essay I actually felt that I could bring something onto the table. Then for the team presentation I felt like I really knew what I was doing by almost fully memorizing a script and alternating. Finally, I was not very scared as I initially was for the IWA because I had an idea of how I could craft a paper. In the stimulus I knew that I wanted to find something about current society. So my personal paper on 'Influence of Western Media' I felt more on control of what I was doing. Comparing, this paper to the individual IRR, I did not need to change my whole paper. I actually had more of a structured paper. Finally, my individual presentation was something that I was very proud of, however, I was very nervous and too scared to go off-script, so I memorized an entire script. I was able to create a whole presentation by myself without any external help. Overall, there was significant growth and my essays become much more cohesive and structured by the end of AP Seminar.

Research may have seen like a simple course just having an essay and a presentation. In reality Research had involved a lot of other skills. We began with an annotated bibliography. I completely bombed it, i was very confident because i had done one in the past. Actually, I never fully read the rubric so I got a mark that i was not very proud of because I knew that I would do much better. At a second attempt there were significant differences, it was more thorough and better organized. For the literature review I was initially very annoyed because I did not understand the difference between the annotated bibliography and a literature review. After meeting multiple times, and talking to other people I was able to finally understand the purpose of this literature review. I worked very hard in my literature review and I definitely thought me to be more organized with my time management skills. I got a very high mark in my literature review and I was very proud of it as this was the one project through Ap Capstone that I seemed the most help and most peer reviews. When the time for the big essay came, I was not scared at all. I was very ready to attack this, get it over with and seek some help. I thought the process of writing would be a little more challenging or intimidating. In reality, I felt very comfortable doing it almost hitting the word limit. I could have done better by seeking more reviews and going over the actual content a few more times. I thought that was essay was done to my ability but not the best one. I was proud of it but i know that I could've kicked it up a notch like I did with my literature review. When I hit a wall regarding my methodology I was very upset and annoyed. However, with thoughtful organization and perseverance I waged to over come this obstacle and finish with a very well written academic paper. Finally, the presentation i was able to go off script and actually enjoy it. I was able to feel like i mastered my topic enough to not need to memorize lines. I was very happy with my presentation, it was concise, it had all elements, it was just a huge reflection of me as a person.

AP Capstone was not an all-time happy nor easy road. There were many obstacles that I hit in the last two years. Generally, I am not the best writer given that English is my second language. However, I really wanted to challenge myself so I stayed throughout both years. Most of my obstacles where regarding the structure of my papers rather than the actual content. I started in Seminar as a young boy who panicked every essay that came along the way. Through these two years I feel much more confident in my writing. As of today, I do not fear any essay or written component. I know that I am capable of fully creating an essay through calmness and creativity. In addition, my presentations became more professional. I started as a guy with cue cards reading of print text. Then I transformed into a man who could master his own material and who was not afraid to go off-script and challenge himself. Holistically, I did grow as a presenter but most importantly my writing skills improved. Personally, I wish I would have taken different courses. Not because of the the idea of 'challenging yourself constantly', it was more because of the idea of wanting to actually be entered in the course and allowing myself to explore some different areas. Research will be present in our uni lives so why rushing in high school? In a way I do have to admit that also AP Capstone made me a stronger and fearless person. After a lot of stress I am grateful with my teachers and my peers for keeping up with me for these 2 years. Also you always gain something from experiences. I am a better writer and better presenter. Along the way many people made this road easier and more enjoyable. Today I can say that I am very proud of the person who I have become throughout these last two years and I feel ready for the next chapter in my life.
