As such, we have decided to set it in the context of social media because we felt that it would be very interesting (and amusing) to see how the Greek gods may have used it; it is also applicable to a modern audience and this would likely make it more accessible to a modern audience.
 
We decided against creating a live-action video in which we would have to act because we felt it best if we did not inflict our less than desirable acting skills on anyone! In addition, we wanted to explore Zeus' dubious nature and highlight his complex relationship with some of the women that are central to Greek myth, like Persephone, Hera and Io, as well as his relationship with Prometheus.
 
To elaborate, we also wanted to show how one might humanise the gods and be made less alien. We have chosen Ovid's Metamorphoses for the myth of Io and also for a lot of the video's content because it is the most well-known version. Ovid's mythic material is also plentiful and very easy to access. We have also decided to use Hesiod's versions of the Prometheus myth from his Theogyny and Works and Days, for much the same reasons.

As well as this, we wanted to inject a bit of humour into the video, since we believe that making something funny is one of the best ways to engage with it. Also, since there are three female characters (Persephone, Hera and Io), our video has addressed the issue of feminism in myth.

Finally, since our video features multiple myths, we wondered if we might compare it to the Metamorphoses of Ovid.
