"Millie!" he said. "Listen. Give me a second , will you? We cant do anything. We cant burn these. I want to look at them, at least look at them once. Then if what the Captain says is true, we'll burn them togehter, beleive me, we'll burn them together. You must help me" (63)

For me this is when all the readers knew Montag is very serious about this and what he wants to do. This quote is important because this is the turning point for when he finally rebelled and did what he thinks is right.

" Speed up the film, Montag, quick. click, pic, look, eye, now, flick, here, there, swift, pace,up,down,in,out, why, how, who, what, where,eh? Uh! Bang! Smack! Wallop, bing, bong, boom! Digest-digests,digest-digest-digests. Politics? One column, two sentences, a headline! Then, in mid-air, all vanishes! Whirl mans mind around about so fast under the pumping hand so publishers, exploiters, broadcasters that the centrifuge flings off all unnecessary, time-wasting thought!" (52).

This is the point in the book where Beatty is talking about why books and such are not needed and how they can just speed up the process.
This is important because it pretty much shows the mind of the people agreeing with getting rid of books and /why/ everyone thinks that getting rid of books is okay.
