Breastfeeding is legal and socially accepting, so mothers should not feel embarrassed because it is a natural step in motherhood which is perfectly normal. Breast feeding distracts the baby and soothes the pain. Experts thinks  endorphins in the mother's milk may act as a painkiller. Breastfeeding when possible may also help to comfort babies and reduce pain throughout infancy. The World Health Organization said that breastfeeding should be done during or shortly before the baby gets the vaccination. Dr Denise Harrison, who is the associate professor of nursing at the University of Ottawa, said that breastfeeding can provide much more than nourishment. It provides comfort and it reduces pain. This is not just about distracting the child from the needle. We know that skin-to-skin contact is a factor, along with the heartbeat, the sound and smell of the mother and the pleasant taste of the breast milk.
