Martin Parr was born on the 23rd May, 1952 in Epsom, Surrey. Parr is a well known British documentary photographer, as well as a photo-journalist. He specifically looks at the aspect of modern life. Not only that, but he also looks at documenting the different social classes within our country.

His work is mainly of close ups- and to achieve maximum detail, used a macro lens.
Most of Parr's work seems to have a humorous feel to it, making the audience reminisce any times where they can relate to the certain photographs he has taken. I think the most of his photos are taken to try and make the audience remember poignant moments from their childhood. This photo is a good example of this. I particularly like this picture as it has the beach vibe to it, but it has an olden days feel to it. For the audience, it helps us to remember times when we went to beaches. The wide shot gives you a view of the expanse of the beach, giving you an even more holiday feel to it. The main reason that I like this photo is because it is not post processed, or staged. It is all natural, therefore it gives the audience a more comfortable vibe from it.
