         <description><![CDATA[<p>Definition - A cotusion is a fancy word for a bruise.  It is caused by a blunt force that damages underlying blood vessels. </p><p>Initial Care - Elevate the area, apply a cold compress to reduce swelling, and rest the injured area. </p><p>Post Care - Continue to do all are in initial care and watch for increased pain or swelling. </p>]]></description>

Often from a surgical procedure. </p><p>Initial Care - Apply direct pressure to control the bleeding, clean the wound with water, and cover with a sterile bandage. Seek medical attention if the  wound is deep.</p><p>Post Care - Keep the wound clean and dry, change bandages as necessary/recommended, and watch for signs of infection.  </p>]]></description>
