My major was Early Childhood Education. I could not pass the state tests so I did not complete student teaching or get my teaching license.

I currently work at a Christian preschool as a one on one teacher for a little boy who is in foster care. God new I needed this job to help support my family and to restore my soul. Previously I was an assistant teacher at a preschool/daycare for 3/4 year olds than later 5 year olds. My husbands non denominational church, my non denominational church, and my Catholic Church. I enjoy listening to Christian music, taking pictures and videos, and occasionally reading a good self help book.

We stayed rent free utility free with clothes and three meals provided for 17 months. Until last November my mother died leaving my brother and I her house we were no longer homeless and I found my calling. While there free childcare was provided using the HighScope model of teaching. I saw first hand a three year old boy go from not being able to verbally communicate and having physically aggressive outburststo  to saying please and thank you. Being a child of ever type of abuse there is and having alcoholic parents I realized that I wanted to help children affected by trauma and abuse like me. There is hope, healing, and freedom from the pain. Eventually I would like to be a preschool teacher at Hope or the director over their Children’s ministry. I believe my degree from Pacific Oaks College will help me accomplish this goal.
