This quote is significant because it shows that the beast is from within not something they can actually physically see.

This is important because it shows how the boys have turned over completely to savagery. This quote is significant because when Simon is murdered all of the boys think that he is the beast. They kill together, and no one can stop it from happening. Simon tries to tell them the truth, that they (all of the boys, all humans) are the beast but they turn on him.

This quote is significant because it shows the theme of survival. I know this because the boys are using the flame as a signal for anyone nearby to come and rescue them. Piggy is saying that without the flame there's no way they'll make it out alive.
