Theodore Roosevelt is renowned as one of the greatest US Presidents ever for many reasons. Firstly, he dominated gaining 56.4% popular vote and 334 electoral college votes. This at the time was one of the biggest landslides in election history showing his immense popularity. Then, in office he put many things into motion. Theodore was the first president to take aggressive action against monopolies with his Sherman Antitrust Act. This helped American society drastically by restoring fair competition in the markets, lowered the economic equality, and helped with poor maintained facilities of the laborers. While also in office he also had "Big Stick" diplomacy, which boosted America's influence to the global scale. Even helping negotiate peace in the Russo-Japanese War, which would later give him the accolade of a Nobel Peace Prize. Teddy's legacy will go on for many more centuries to come. He is known as the President who helped government influence on businesses, and one who cared about everyone. Theodore's face is also on Mount Rushmore forever immortalizing him as one of the most important influential members in American history.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, some would put rate him number one but I put him in fourth based on my personal criteria. He was the most popular President being elected 4 times. His popular vote percentages are as follows; 57.4% in 1932, 61% in 1936, 54.7% in 1940, and 53.4% in 1944. Him being elected 4 times in a row shows his popularity and the peoples trust in his leadership. One of Franklin's major accomplishment was The New Deal which implemented aid to the unemployed, disabled, and elderly. This also helped with the implementation of the Social Security Act. Both of these deals and acts paved the way to many modern welfare programs. Franklin's legacy will be one to be talked about forever. His many accomplishments like leading the country to a victory WWII to defeat fascism. Then, later making the United Nations, which labeled the US as a world superpower still to this day.

3. Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson, one of the Founding Fathers is one of the most acclaimed President of all time. He defeated John Adams in the 1800 election, while no popular vote was recorded it was a very close race which probably landed him 50%. He later would be re-elected in 1804 winning with a popular vote of 72.8%. His decisive victory over Adams then coming back with a landslide victory proves he was loved by the people. In office his act that many don't know he granted was the Lewis and Clark expedition. He wanted to support western migration so he gave Lewis and Clark the capabilities and tools to make a map to the Pacific Ocean. His most memorable act in office though must be The Louisiana Purchase. This purchase granted the United States 530 million acres or approximately 830,000 square miles. This is one of the greatest deals in all of history for only costing $15 million. This would be the average of 4 cents per acre. Thomas Jefferson’s presidency is most noted for the Louisiana Purchase and his expansion of U.S. territory. He is known as the write of the Declaration of Independence, stating the United States secession from Great Britain.

George Washington, a former member of the Royal British Army. After the American Revolution the country was looking for a leader. The people looked at the general of the Continental Army, George Washington and he took up the role of President. He was elected or had a popular vote but he had immense popularity, so he ultimately had a 100% popular vote, a fete no other president has had. He was later nominated for a second term to no opposition. His accomplishments during his time in office shaped the way for the future of the country. He made the system of Checks and Balances to not let the President become too powerful. He also set up the Presidential Cabinet, he also set up many executive branches of the government. This includes the State Department and Treasury Department. George Washington's legacy will never be forgotten in him setting the precedents of presidency. The precedents include the event of peaceful transfer of power, and the limit of 2 terms (though not set until the 22nd amendment was enacted). George Washington will always be a favorite of mine and for many millions.

Abraham "Honest Abe" Lincoln, the greatest president in US history. He has many accomplishments that will be later discussed. Lincoln, although unpopular in his first race with only 39% of the popular vote. He would run for re-election and then gain 55% of the popular vote. This signifies that he built on the trust and gained much more support since his last race. Lincoln being able to maintain political control throughout a tough time such as the Civil War just immortalizes his leadership in the toughest of times. Honest Abe's main goal as President was to "Preserve the Union", the means no matter what he will always keep the US together, by guiding them throughout the Civil War. The Emancipation Proclamation, is definitely the most remarkable part of Lincoln's presidency because it stated all enslaved in the South to be free. Although they weren't free as soon as it was signed, it was a major step forward for the future. The 13th amendment builds off the Emancipation Proclamation. The 13th amendment states all enslaved to be set free immediately and abolishes slavery in whole. Abraham Lincoln will forever be immortalized as the greatest to ever be in office. He did so much great for the country such as abolish slavery, preserving the union, and being an overall figure of leadership. He is also on the memorial of Mount Rushmore to be remembered forever.
