-Encourage your child to read for pleasure: reading a book, magazine or comic is a good way to escape modern pressures. 

-Encouraging your child to keep a journal/diary for an extended period of time or to document a specific event such as a family holiday. This normalises writing and encourages them to write when they are at their most happy. 

-Buying the right equipment- handwriting pens, pens with altered grip etc. and trialling what works for your child. 

-A clutter-free environment to write in. 

-Sharing ideas verbally before writing takes place.
