The questions below will get you started, but you are encouraged to follow whatever threads seem most interesting to you about your character! Please be ready with this the week after fall break, but expect presentations to happen a few at a time over the next few weeks.

If you would like to do a more in depth /hands-on presentation (if your character makes food or performs in some way, for example), you are welcome to do that! Just let us know so that we can schedule it into our unit.

This is a hard one! Students may need more parent help this week. Everyone is working hard and doing a great job. Your student came home with a key word outline to work from. This is the same type of outline we used in the last paper, the story sequence outline (pg. 21 in your guide). We added a new dress-up today, the who/which clause, it is exactly what it sounds like and the kids did a great job playing around with it. Homework is a three paragraph paper on the buffalo hunt, the checklist for the paper is on page 24. Please have your student use the checklist and underline the dress-ups. Please be your child's editor, students learn so much from the editing process. Have a great week! Please comment here with any questions, I will try to check a couple of times a day to answer.

FOR HOMEWORK: I've sent home a packet that all of the kids will do with some readings on Charlemagne - this is a good critical thinking exercise in which they will analyze two tellings of the same story and identify bias in each. In case any packets did not make it home, I am attaching the PDFs here (above) - there are TWO PDFs, and they look almost identical, but some words are changed in the text itself for the bias piece.
