"6 feet under screams and no one seems to hear a thing" is a lyric that is representing her screaming but it's almost as if she's dead because no one is listening to her. This is a prime example of a metaphor to show how she feels isolated and ignored instead of the original feeling of independence.

- Ella, Zoey, Paulo, Conner

"Firework" - Katy Perry: Song Analysis

The lyric "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag" is a simile for the way someone feels aimless, and drifting in the wind after an emotional event, such as a personal loss. Katy chooses a plastic bag from the many other objects that can drift in the wind, because of the way a plastic bag can last in an environment for a long time, and the way it is artificial and man-made. This connects to a line later in the song, where Katy sings "You don't have to feel like a waste of space," where the waste (synonyms for garbage, trash) ties back to the plastic bag (which is literal waste), and the emotion of shame or disappointment Katy feels.

- Lily, Keane, Sophia, Soren, Jane (Group 6)
