The requirement of getting close up to the subject, made me view objects in a new perspective. Walking around when I saw something that I thought would work for the color assignment, the photo that I wanted to capture appeared. I notice that my eye was drawn to the color blue, and I would be stopping at blue objects. I found it interesting in looking at all the other images that each photo had its own unique perspective. The textures in some of the photos added depth to the composition of the image.

I didn’t expect that having a camera in my hands would alter my perspective as much as it did. As cliche as that sounds walking around fast or rushing through things tends to leave us numb or blind to the little things in life. Being required to walk around for 45 minutes to enter the right mind frame left me open to see more contrast in the color natural or artificial.

As someone who is accustomed to landscape photography, I was not expecting to notice and see such detail, and have the pictures come out as good as they did. Despite being our first assignment and without much instruction about our cameras, I think all of the pictures posted by the class came out very nicely, and it was a fun assignment to just walk around and take pictures. Also, seeing everyone's points of view was neat as well, and seeing where everyone went with this assignment.

Many photos seemed to be things I was not sure of. But, by taking close ups, it
 allows you to focus on the colors, textures, and more specific aspects of the photo. I thought it will be hard to focus on colors outside, expecially in this time of the year. However I have noticed a lot of interesting and colorful things that I did not pay attention to before. As I went about this project I realized that there were colors all around us. I enjoyed taking pictures of them and discovering a new enviroment that I would not have noticed before.

Although the weather was cold, it was refreshing. What attracted me the most was this metallic blue color of a Subaru sedan. The color really stood up to me in comparison to other cars in the neighborhood. The blue color reminds me of the ocean, and it's calming mellow vibe. That is what this city is missing. People's pace on life is too fast, everyone just wants to get ahead of everybody else.
