Industry week-Catering and Hospitality students had the opportunity to hear from a diverse array of guest speakers and participate in several cooking challenges. The talks allowed students to explore potential careers within the sector, whilst developing the skills they need for Higher Education or employment. Chocolatier Ashley McCarthy inspired students with creative ways to make chocolate into edible artwork and set a challenge to make chocolate truffles.

Industry week-Whitby trip-Learners experienced a day at Whitby, North Yorkshire-which included a visit to a lobster hatchery and a talk how the hatchery aim to release 100,000 lobsters per year. The hatchery support fishing livelihoods and protect native marine life which is important to sustainability and to Whitby. At Whitby learners had a a treasure hunt to complete following a map and instructions/clues and on the bus, learners played bingo for prizes.
