They sought more voting and land rights, which they obtained after destroying Jamestown and forcing government leaders to evacuate the settlement. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Stono Rebellion was launched by slaves against their masters near Charleston, South Carolina.  100 slaves revolted, eventually killing 20 white men.  Most slaves were captured and executed and strict laws were passed throughout the South that limited slaves' rights.</p>]]></description>
