I am from South Texas and currently enrolled in the Professional School Counseling program at Angelo State University. Working both as a full time as a teacher and student, I found it challenging to focus on my physical and mental health. However, my personal goal is to create a balance on my responsibilities and health to ensure I perform my best. One of my professional goals is to enhance my communication skills. As a future school counselor, I believe it is essential to have open communication with parents, staff, outside organizations, and students. To effectively support my students, I want to ensure I can communicate in a way that helps them meet their needs. In this course, I want to expand my knowledge of crisis and trauma so that I can better support my students experiencing these challenges.
