John has dyslexia, mary is very bright. The teacher hands them both a quiz at the beginning of a class. Because of John’s dyslexia he can’t comprehend all the questions and gets 3 out of 10. Mary on the other hand gets 10 out of 10. The teacher then rewards Mary and John is left feeling unintelligent. What kind of social justice/s is this and how could this situation be made more equitable?

If the quiz could not be changed or no help was able to be given to John, the way of praise given to Mary could possibly be changed. Rather than praising the achievement by Mary, praise the efforts of both students.
