I use padlet pretty consistently in my classes as a warm up or as an exit ticket. I provide the sentence stems and have them share what they wrote with a friend and then as a whole classroom. They can also comment on the posts that they see and post pictures (visuals).

I would have them go onto some sort of app that conglomerates all the responses together anonymously. The teacher knows who it is, but the students do not. This would enable to the students to analyze the different responses and hopefully improve their own responses as the lesson continues.

To leverage technology she could have had the students write in their notebooks then share with a partner or group. After they have had the opportunity to speak with a partner the students could then use padlet to write out their responses.
