Germany annexed Austria in a event called the Anschluss. Ethnic Germans in Austria supported the idea. The annexation was was yet another violation of the treaty.

Germany invades Poland using a new military tactic called blitzkrieg. 
Meaning that airplanes, tanks, infantry  all invaded at high speed. Two weeks later after Germany invaded Poland, Russia joined the fight to divid Poland. This was part of the nonaggression pact.

Germany wanted to control anyone that was inferior or different.  Germany blamed the jews for losing the First World War. Hitler used mobile killing units that mass executed as many jews as possible. Hitler was able to do this with out other nations knowing. If they found out, it would be a violation of the human rights act.

Allied nations established the International Military Tribunal to prosecute German war criminals. The jury was made up of people from Great Britain, the United States, and France. The jury even included people from Russia, which used to be an ally to germany.

After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor the US was surprised to say the least. The Us did not want to join the war, they were one of the last neutral countries. After the attack the US bombed Japan, the US was now in World War II.
