In this picture you can see two Puritans that pray/ communicate to god. They were members of a religious reform and believed that they had a covenant with god.
The Bible was central to their worship. Puritans believed that it was necessary to be in a covenant relationship with God in order to be redeemed from one's sinful condition and they believed that God expected them to live according to the Scriptures, which is probably why they were communicating with god in this picture. Their intend was to “purify” the Church of England of remnants of the Roman Catholic “popery”.

The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. More than two hundred people were accused, thirty were found guilty, nineteen of whom were executed by hanging (fourteen women and five men). In the image you can see a girl that is being accused during the Salem Witch trails and you can also see the judges, the people accusing her and one women that is praying. Eventually, the colony admitted the trials were a mistake and compensated the families of those convicted. Since then, the story of the trials has become synonymous with paranoia and injustice.

Calvinism was advanced by John Calvin, who you can see in the picture above, he was a Protestant reformer in the 16th century. Calvinism was distinctive among 16th-century reform movements because of particular ideas about God's plan for the salvation of humanity, about the meaning and celebration of the sacraments, and about the danger posed by idolatry. The term also refers to doctrines and practices derived from the works of Calvin and his followers that are characteristic of the Reformed churches. The Calvinist form of Protestantism is widely thought to have had a major impact on the formation of the modern world.

The picture shows the Pilgrim Fathers arriving on the Mayflower and landing in New England. A “city on a hill” is a phrase used to refer to America's supposed standing in the world, as a “beacon of hope” which other nations can look to for moral guidance. The phrase is also used to describe the expectation that the Massachusetts Bay colony would shine like an example to the world, which is why the people on the picture look proud standing on the hill. The Puritans believed that it would become a shining example of Puritan perfection.
