This video made by the Bank of Canada is a treasure of information and is incredibly useful. This video recreation of how credit card fraud occurs in real life. It shows and gives examples of how skimmers, accomplices and cameras can all be used to commit fraud. It also provides helpful tips to prevent it from happening like: not letting your card leave your sight, come up with a unique pin code, or avoid swiping when you can use the chip. It also explains what businesses can do to help prevent fraud like hiring reliable people or looking over your payment terminals for anything suspicious.

This image shows the 5 most common ways in which your credit or debit information is stolen on an ATM machine. These 5 things are extremely useful to keep in mind because ATM Fraud is one of the most prevalent forms of credit/debit fraud, due to ATM's being found on nearly every street corner with little supervision in the immediate area. I found out about false fronts of ATM's and how to identify them.

This video is unique in that it shows good business practices that help prevent debit or credit card fraud unlike others which just provide information for the consumer. It goes into detail explaining what can be done for both digital and physical stores, like checking to see if one location is using multiple cards, comparing card signatures to signatures on id's or being mindful of a customers purchasing habits. It explains how a skimming machine might be used a a store without the owners knowing. I took away a lot of information from this video including digital and physical store fraud.

This site was created by the bankers association of Canada. It is useful because it clearly explains what financial institutions and the government are doing to prevent credit fraud, such as automatic systems which monitor for unusual transaction activity. It explains how many credit card providers have zero liability policies, so that if it is stolen your are not liable for any transaction that occur during that period. The main thing I learned is that actions are being taken and systems are put in place to stop credit card fraud.

It explains different security measures that can be taken to prevent it from ever happening. These security measures include: using a chip card, placing a limit on the card and keeping your pin secret. I found that placing a limit on your card was helpful and great tip people should use.

This brief video, was created by the RCMP and shows how real identity theft is. It briefly explains how identity can be used to commit credit fraud. It speaks upon how it can be used to obtain new credit cards in your name which could potentially ruin your credit score, allowing them to go on elaborate shopping sprees or take out loans under your name. The main thing I took away is how important your identity is, a simple mistake can be very costly.

This website was also created by a part of the government, the RCMP. It is especially useful and informative because it provides steps for what to do if you believe your credit is being used fraudulently. Also, it provides statistics on credit fraud. These statistics show the change in trends for types of credit fraud, and explain why these trends change over time. I learned what steps I should take if i ever found myself in this situation.
