This research paper's focus on the Nature of Science (NoS) has informed several elements of the lesson plans developed, specifically the LP on states of matter, to promote scientific literacy and critical thinking. Discussing practical applications of gases and their behaviour in real-world contexts encourages students to think about the relevance of scientific knowledge to societal and environmental issues, a goal outlined in the research paper. This lesson also integrates and awareness of the tentative nature of scientific conclusions, as students see how heat can change states and potentially alter mass distribution. This aligns with the values and beliefs inherent in science emphasised in the research paper, highlighting that science education should not only teach content but also cultivate awareness of the impact of scientific knowledge on societal well-being.
