Yes absolutely. The sooner you let us know about any support you need the better. You don't need to wait until you enrol. The university can organise getting a learning contract in place tailored to your specific needs
https://www.shu.ac.uk/current-students/student-support

Hi, I would like to ask if degrees in the bioscience and chemistry department are flexible. Are you able to transfer into a different degree programme within those departments if you find interest in one specific area or is it possible to choose certain modules that align more to your interests.

Thanks.

Hello, every course from second year has some level of module choice so you can choose subjects which align with your interests. You are also able, in some modules, to choose topics for presentations/essays etc. In your final year you are also able to select an area for your research project which will form a big focus.
There is considerable cross over between our courses and in some cases it is possible to swap your degree pathway, however this depends on a number of factors including spaces available, academic performance and whether the modules you have already studied are sufficient to underpin the new course.
If you havent visited our virtual open day page already, please do so as there are presentations over viewing course content https://www.shu.ac.uk/visit-us/course-open-day
