Territoral changes was not the harshest but it was still quite harsh(P) as Germany lost 10% of its land, 12.5% of its population, and was forbidden to make alliances with Austria to form an Anschluss. In addition, Germany had to give up its overseas empire. Former German colonies became mandates controlled

by the League of Nations, which meant they effectively came under the French and British control. Thousands of Germans would also have to live under rule of other governments in Poland and Czechoslovakia. These included the Germans in the city of Danzig, which would be cut off from the rest of Germany to give the new state of Poland access to the sea(EE) Hence, the territoral changes was not the harshest compared to the war guilt clause

(Point)Reparation was the harshest because they had to pay a huge sum amount of money. (Eg)They had to pay 6.6 billion pounds for the war damages and Germany had already a huge debts from the war effort.(Elaborate) Reparation would add a huge weight to their debt which also lead the economy to go down. Germany economic was disrupted by hyperinflation as the government printed money to pay reparation. The prices went up and money became worthless. Many Germans had their savings wiped out. (Link)This was harsh because German suffered economic hardship and poverty.

Disarmament was the harshest (P) as provisions were included in the treaty as a way to prevent Germany from rebuilding its military forces. Germany was severely limited in terms of its military strength. The German army was reduced to 100,000 soldiers, and conscription was prohibited. The navy was limited to a few small ships, and the air force was completely disbanded. Germany was also forbidden from possessing heavy artillery, tanks, and other modern military technologies. With a weak army , it was easier for germany to be attacked and it was unsafe for the country as it was unable to defend themselves. (EE) There was also economic consequences for Germany. This led to widespread unemployment and economic hardship in Germany, contributing to a sense of resentment and bitterness. Therefore disarmament is the harshest. (L)
