I disagree with that having a friend like Marial would make it harder for Salva. It would help Salva because him and Marial have been and still are in the same situation.  
Marial is a very good friend for Salva which they're both in the same situation with. Marial probably has a bigger mentality which it helps Salva to understand something that he might not have been through yet.  
When Salva steps on Marial’s hand  “It’s all right. But you really should watch where you're going.” This shows that he could have acted in a different way and would not be a good situation for everyone else. Marial acted in a good way by not letting that lead into something it was not supposed to go but he handled it well for himself to not try to get up and hurt Salva. 
Marial stayed calm and in a bad situation which would help Salva a lot. Having someone who knows how to control himself is very good to have because they would tell you how to act in a situation where it is very hard to handle your emotion. 
Marial has asked Salva “Your family?” Marial said and Salva shook his head while Mairal said it to “Me too.” This would help stick together because they are both in the situation where they both are lost boys without their families. They could use each other's stories to use it as a strong part because one of them might have gone through a harder part.
This will help Salva survive because having a friend that has been through the same thing is better than one person then going through it alone. It is no good while is only yourself only you would always need someone on your side to be there just like Marial. This all show having a friend like Marial would have you survive and stay looking up in situations that are difficult. 

Salva it’s worried because his family won’t be able to find him in another country.
The author describes that when an Atout people die comes back to Earth as a lion, with a great hunger for human flesh he once had.  This quote helps to create a picture of where they are because it’s an extremely dangerous place that no one can be safe. 
I think that at the end of the chapter when Salva hear someone calling his name is going to be his older brother or one friend from the village.

It’s a good picture that helps people understand the chapter because no one can sleep well with the wild animals around. 

Are they coming for us? Will they eat us alive? But I won't be going to sleep because of the lions roaring. I don’t know if the lions would attack us while we’re asleep. I don’t know where the lions are or if they’re coming towards us. I don’t know if the lions are coming for us but I know we need to keep going on our journey to not stop and keep going till we get into a safe place. Having Marial by my side makes me feel that I’m not alone which if I was I wouldn't  be this calm.  Sometimes it is good not to talk about family or think about them when you're with a friend that is going through the same but still yall go through it and still be happy.
How did everything start when he got attacked, where was he, where was his family. I would like to know how everything he went through was the same as I did or if it was harder then what I had to go through. Another reason why I'm asking this is because my story is going to be different than his.
I hear these lions and I wish I could find my family while running and not knowing where to go. Every night I am wishing wherever my parents are they are in a good place where they are alive. I hope they have food and water because in this situation the most important thing is having those things with you all the time. The second most important other thing is trying to stay away from the war.  Now the situation is adding up because I’m  very scared of the lions and my parents are still missing not knowing if they are good or if they are dead which is just making me think a lot. 

I agree that it will be easier for salva to survive having a friend like Marial because they both thought the same they can help each other with that feeling of losing their family.
The first evidence is when Marial told Salva “Don’t you know that if we keep walking east, we’ll go all the way around the world and come right back here to sudan? That’s when we’ll find our families.”
This evidence supports my claim because Salva was discouraged when they were walking to Ethiopia and at that moment Marial made him laugh and  motivated him to continue.
My second evidence is when Salva said “It was good to make a friend.”
This evidence supports my claim because it's better to pass hard time with the help and support of a friend than alone. If you are alone it is harder because nobody is going to motivate you or help you if you are in trouble.
