I noticed there was lots of hospitality, and community hubs nearby to visit. Plenty of faith centres and churches for mixed religions. Most buildings have accessibility for disabled, plenty of ramps, no steps.

Lacks activities and visual value

I have noticed there are not many activities to do in chesterfield city centre, it lacks entertainment value. I feel the city centre could do with more flowers, and trees to make it more inviting.

Age, ethnicity

I saw plenty of elderly couples, this was the majority age group. I also noticed there was not much of a mix of ethnicity.

Accessibility

The accessibility of disabled individuals was great, most shops had ramps and no steps.

There was a lot of establishments with easy access for all. Many different meeting points for people to join and socialise, there was a public library and many different religious venues to cater for all religions. There was several pharmacies and a gp surgery.

Tidy up

I feel the city centre could do with a tidy up, as I noticed litter scattered around and the buildings looked old and run down. I feel this could bring more people to the city centre as it would be more inviting.

There wasn’t any youth clubs or activities available that we could see for the younger generation. There was a lot to cater for the middle aged and elderly but no social activities for children or teenagers within the town centre.

I saw the was a big library which was accessible to all age group and buses all around and also several pharmacies.

It was less busy for a town centre than expected. There was a few people shopping within the centre but nothing else appeared to be happening.

It was apparent that the town centre was mainly used as a shopping point. People were rushing and not taking much notice of their surroundings.

The town could benefit from some tidying up. There was also many buildings for sale and for let, a lot of empty businesses and shops which tells us that the town is losing customers for some particular reason.

Some nice gardens with areas to sit, a good library which is open and accessible. Plenty of places to eat, drink, shop, lots of churches a theatre and community areas. Bustling market area.

Floor area through the town quite uneven in spaces meaning accessibility may be difficult. A lot of empty shops. May be a dark and gloomy at night

Not many people from other ethnic groups, main town centre was cleaner than I expected.

People were guile happy to talk and mingle with others, especially around the market area.

People were talking to each other and I saw a woman who helped an elderly man when he fell

I feel the town could do with a general tidy, weeds removed from shop front and sides of road, there are a lot of smashed windows which could with improving.

There are not parks and activities for the children and young people
