The most notable part of this dance is its use of flowers. Whether it be live flowers, fake flowers or a piece resembling a petal is irrelevant. As long as the accessory can be handheld. The choreographer has plenty of creative freedom but must follow certain rules. For example, the flowers must correlate to the event. Because of that it's frowned open to use white flowers (as the represent death) and dark colored flowers (as they may damper a lively event).

This dance is one of several enriching Vietnam's culture and history. The earliest traceable record of this dance dates back to 15,000 years ago where a dance like this was performed during the first Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. Another possibility regarding its origins was the dance being performed during the Nguyen Dynasty ( 1803-1885) at the imperial court. Both scenarios occurring in Vietnam. There's not much information on this dance but I can say for certain, after centuries The Vietnamese Flower Dance is still being performed by dancers across the world.

The majority of music being used seemed to be mellow folk or classical songs sung in Vietnamese. A diverse group of instruments are used but most prominently the flute and strings. Both of which are extremely important to South-East Asian music.

The dancers performing it may perhaps feel more in touch with their cultural roots. My reasoning behind this is that i've noticed that the dancer's range from elders to children.
