That is one misconception that a lot people tend to think.
    Marine pollution affects us humans too here's why 
    - Food supply
    Fisheries and aquaculture produce roughly 140 million tons of plants and animals annually.  This means that large amount of seafood will be affected by marine pollution.
    - Revenue 
    in 2017 coastal tourism generate about $59 billion earnings, the industry has around 40000 jobs. Many of these jobs are affected by marine pollution. This therefore affect the employment rate and therefore affect the economy of the countries using coastal tourism to generate revenue especially for countries that depend on it.
