I wish we were all meeting back at school to start our last term together - hopefully that will happen some time soon! We will also be missing a birthday in our class this week - wishing a very happy birthday to Danny, hope you have a lovely day! 

But for now here are some activities you can do to practise your reading, writing and maths at home. I would like to stress to the grown ups that not all of these tasks have to be completed - please do what suits you and your child. Also, in school, we would not complete all these tasks in a row - we would mix it up with movement breaks and activities in between to let off some steam!

I would also love if all the boys and girls could pick a piece or two of their work that they are really proud of from the week and email a photo of it to me so I can see their amazing work! Activity: Write a prediction for what will happen in the rest of the story.

Tuesday: Read pgs. 28 - 30
Activity: Discuss the meaning of the phrase "the bee's knees" with a grown up.
Write two sentences using the phrase.

Wednesday: Read pgs. 31 +32
Activity: Explain what colourful means.
Write a sentence with something colourful in it.
Draw something colourful.
Write a word that means the opposite of colourful.

Thursday: Read pg. 33
Activity: Write the answers to these three questions:
1.  How did Evan and Ella feel about Ed?
2. Why were the clowns silly?
3. How did Tom get lost?

Friday: Read pg. 34

Friday: Dictation - Ask a grown-up to read out these words for you to write down: thin, moth, teeth, them, then, this, that, the. If you do really well with those words, you could try to write a sentence or two - remembering your finger spaces!

Here are some pages from your workbook. You can write out the sums, draw pictures to go with them, or do them orally.

Before you do these pages you could practise lots of ways of making 9 using items you have at home - pasta shells, crayons, legos, anything at all! You could also do a number hunt around your home, or play a game of snap with playing cards - snap when you see number 9!

You can also practise writing the number and remember our rhyme - 'Make a loop and then a line, that's the way we make a 9!'
