Google Docs allows students to collaborate and receive feedback in real time from peers or the teacher.  By using word processing type programs, students can more easily add, delete, or move text and improve their quality of work.  Additionally, they can also add elements such as transitions words, descriptive adjectives, and more complex sentences.  Typing their writing into programs such as Google Docs help students who struggle with handwriting focus on getting their ideas organized and editing their work. Students also receive immediate feedback which can also help them improve their writing. Google Docs also help in the sharing and revision steps of the writing process.  This program allows for collaboration by having students post their work, reading other students’ work, and sharing feedback (Paquet-Belanger, 2017, p.1).  

       Research has shown that interventions should include many opportunities for review and feedback during writing practice (Kaldenberg et al., 2016, p.949).  Also, research has shown that frequent feedback on writing quality, missing elements, and strengths was effective in combination with instruction on the writing process (Gersten et al., 2013, p.1).  The feedback which Google Docs allows by sharing with peers and teachers supports the writing process for all students at their individual levels of performance.
