-There are many factors that shape the coastlines of Florida

-However the two main factors are Beach Erosion; breaking down of the beaches, sand dunes, and surrounding islands, caused by weather (storms, waves, current, etc.)

-The second main factor is the longshore movement of sand; sand moves underwater not only on and off then coast, but along it

-The longshore current drags sand from one place to another with varying effects.

-Sand continuously moves from one beach to the next.

- Their are five major factors that limit the life on dunes and therefore, plants must have specific adaptations to be able to survive them.

1. Wind is constantly shifting sand around the roots, making it harder to maintain a foothold

2. Continuous bombardment by wind-blown sand abrades plants tissues and threatens to bury the plant

3. Rain drains away quickly through the course, porous sand, but plants growing in sand need freshwater often

4.
