I've been enjoying the different point of view and the narrator's sudden announcements or clarifications. Papa is a decent man trying to teach the little theif to read, even if half the books so far are stolen.

The fact that death is telling the story makes it very unique and I really enjoy how death gives hints about what’s going to happen in the future. It really gets me thinking about the story and draws me in to the character’s world.

Now that we have been reading for a while, I am now interesed in what happens. I want to know why Liesel steals books, and what happens with Max, and does everyone in this story come out unscathed or are there more things that happen that will upset me. I want to know more and I am enjoying the book. I like the perpective of Death but get a little confused at times and I need to reread certain sections to clarify.

First is the whole Jesse Owens incident which is legendary in my opinion for him to even think of something so ridiculous and then act as if it was completely normal when his dad caught him. Second is his love for Liesel which is hilarious which ever way you look at it and there dynamic is interesting so far and has me curious to how it turns out. Lastly his willingness to help and the fact he is always being there for Leisel even though shes the new girl in town and knows little about her.
