Ancient running was the oldest and the most important sport in the ancient olympics. From 776 BC to 728 BC, the 180 meters, also known as the stadion, was the only running event. Eventually, other running events were added, such as, diaulos, and the dolichos. One rule was that the runners had to be naked, another was they had to be barefoot when running. Running is still in the olympics, however there are many more events and the runners now wear clothes and have shoes, so they have the proper equipment.

This sport was first played in Ancient Greece for the Olympics. We still see this playing in the present day Olympics, but it's a bit different. In Greece, the game would end when someone died from the metal gloves, whereas today its until the timer goes off.

Chariot racing was said to be the most popular sport in Ancient Greece, and that it started the Olympic games. It was held in an Ancient Grecian stadium called the Hippodrome, which was set on the incline of a hill and curved toward the end. The race lasted 15 minutes and would make seven laps. Up to 12 chariots would race side by side at one time. Chariot racing is not played today. The last race was held in 549 AD. Although they do still have some equestrian events in the games today.

They became wildly famous and were known as heroes. The sport was equivalent to modern day American football. To show off their strengths they would carry live bulls over their shoulders into the stadiums and ties strings around their heads and break them by pooping their veins. They would wrestle naked and covered in oil. Their were two kinds of wrestling, standing which you had to thrown down the opponent 3 times while ground wrestling was wrestling till one opponent could not wrestle anymore which often resulted in death.
